Dr. Carol A. Miller, PT, MSPT, PhD is an American Physical Therapy Association Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatrics, since 1996. In July 2016, Dr. Miller began her position as Professor and Director of Clinical Education at PCOM Georgia. Dr. Miller has comprehensive experience in curriculum design and development and served as Director of Curriculum and Instruction 2016-2023. She currently serves a Professor and teaches a variety of clinical and professional courses in the doctor of physical therapy program and is a visiting lecturer at Kennesaw State University Masters of Science – Prosthetic and Orthotics Program.
In the profession, Dr. Miller is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Physical Therapy Association of Georgia, and serves on the Scientific Medical Advisory Board for the Amputee Coalition. With extensive experience in the rehabilitation, sub-acute and outpatient care settings, her areas of clinical expertise include geriatrics, amputation management, gait analysis and balance/fall risk, diabetic foot and wound care, and arthritis/osteoporosis management. Dr. Miller is actively engaged in researching effective interventions for enhancing gait, balance, and health and wellness for individuals living with lower limb loss and in investigating quality of life issues for older adults. She has published research in health and wellness and quality of life, gait analysis and biomechanics of gait, and exercise training for older adults with amputation.
