Education
Dr. Galluzzi is a graduate of Concord University in Athens, West Virginia, and the
West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg. She completed an internship
at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals - University Medical Center in Stratford, New Jersey,
a family practice residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey
School of Osteopathic Medicine in Camden, a faculty development fellowship in the
Department of Community Health at Temple University, and a geriatric faculty preceptorship
at the University of Pennsylvania. She also completed the Program in Palliative Care
Education and Practice Program (PCEP) at the Harvard Medical School Center for Palliative
Care in 2009.
Research
Dr. Galluzzi’s research interests mirror her clinical role: dementia, geriatric function,
health promotion/disease prevention and the role of medical cannabis in pain and quality
of life.
Awards
- Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (FACOFP
dist.).
- 1996 POFPS Frederick J. Solomon, DO Award of Merit in recognition of a family physician
who has made a significant contribution to osteopathic education in Pennsylvania.
- 2005 Barbara Bell, MD Award for distinguished service in the field of geriatric medicine
from the Eastern Pennsylvania Geriatrics Society.
- Outstanding Female Leader Award from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
- 2018 Grace W. Harrison Award for distinguished service in the field of Long Term Care.
Memberships
A member of the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, she is Vice Chair
of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, which is the
local Area Agency on Aging. She is a fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia,
a Past President of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society (POFPS),
and a former President of the Eastern Pennsylvania Geriatrics Society (now the Delaware
Valley Geriatrics Society). She chaired the AOA Council on Palliative Care Issues
for many years.
