SHIV DHIMAN, MD
Professor
Dr. Dhiman currently teaches gross anatomy, histology, embryology and neuroanatomy
for the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program and Biomedical Sciences (MS) program at PCOM South Georgia. He is currently co-chair of the curriculum committee and course director for clinical
approach to gastroenterology. He is also the campus lead for the cadaveric research program.
After completing his medical degree, he started working as a junior resident in pediatrics
and practiced medicine in rural areas for several years. He later joined the Accident
and Emergency Department at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, Guyana and Victoria
Hospital St. Lucia. He has been teaching anatomy and histology in medical schools
and has held several academic positions including assistant dean of clinical sciences,
chair of curriculum committee and chair of the faculty development committee. He was
also course director for gross anatomy and module director for the integumentary module.
Dr. Dhiman is a licensed physician to practice medicine in India and is registered
under the Indian Medical Council. He received the most favorite professor award at
MUA School of Medicine.
