Research
Dr. Zhu's research specialties are electrophysiology and molecular biology, and her
research interests focus on the regulation of ion channels in cardiopulmonary diseases.
Specifically, the expression and regulation of large conductance, calcium- and voltage-activated
potassium (BKCa) channels by protein kinases in pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells
from pulmonary hypertensive animal model. Her research work has been published in
several high-reputation peer-reviewed journals such as American Journal of Physiology,
Cardiovascular Research, and Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
