Students and faculty from PCOM and GA-PCOM celebrated the institution’s osteopathic heritage during National Osteopathic Medicine (NOM) Week, April 17-23. Activities included a NOM Week opening reception; a cupcake decorating event; and a discussion on neuromusculoskeletal medicine with John Tortu, DO ’00.
Current and future osteopathic physicians also shared why they decided to pursue osteopathic medicine through the #WhyIDO campaign, comprising short videos and white boards on display at both campuses.
For the past 125 years, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) has trained thousands of highly competent, caring physicians, health practitioners and behavioral scientists who practice a “whole person” approach to care—treating people, not just symptoms. PCOM, a private, not-for-profit accredited institution of higher education, operates three campuses (PCOM, PCOM Georgia and PCOM South Georgia) and offers doctoral degrees in clinical psychology, educational psychology, osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, and school psychology.
