Pickron-Davis Mentors Future Women Leaders
March 7, 2022Joining more than 30 women leaders from around the region on February 28, Marcine Pickron-Davis, PhD, chief diversity and community relations officer at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), shared advice with
burgeoning leaders as part of the Philadelphia Business Journal's Bizwomen Mentoring
Monday.
The annual program brings together mentors and mentees in a relaxed, but fast-paced
virtual environment. Mentors for this session were selected by the The Forum of Executive
Women, a network of more than 500 women leaders in the Greater Philadelphia Region,
from a broad cross section of industries and included CEOs, managing directors, presidents
and other women leaders.
Reflecting on the experience, Dr. Pickron-Davis shared, “It was a pleasure to support
Mentoring Monday's mission to build connections and broaden the network of emerging
female leaders and entrepreneurs.”
Dr. Pickron-Davis has a deep appreciation for the important role mentors can play
early in a career.
“I appreciate the mentors who saw my potential and inspired me to find my purpose,”
she said. “Relationships with mentors matter and have the potential to make a significant
difference in a mentee's professional journey.”
At PCOM, Dr. Pickron-Davis Chair's the President's Council on Equity, Inclusion and Justice, charged with identifying strategic priorities and initiatives that align with the
PCOM 2025 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan. The Council is made up of work groups representing students, faculty, and staff
from PCOM, PCOM Georgia and PCOM South Georgia.
As a leader, Dr. Pickron-Davis is a strong advocate for civic engagement, currently
serving on the Boards of Darlington Arts Center, Together for West Philadelphia, the
Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development and Methodist-Inglis
Gardens Collaborative. She is also Chair of the Pennsylvania Diversity Council and
