The 120-hour Introduction to Nursing Home Administration program allows students to
pursue professional development in this rapidly evolving field. See below to view
answers to frequently asked questions about the NHA program.
When does the next Nursing Home Administrator class start?
Starting the last Tuesday in August for our Fall semester or the first Tuesday in
January for our Spring semester, the 120-hour program will be offered as a semester-long
course. It is still offered completely online but there will be a daily schedule to
follow. Each week, learners complete online course requirements asynchronously (on-demand
recorded presentations) with an option to engage in a live interactive speaker discussion
each Tuesday. For those unable to attend the live speaker discussions, the live discussions
will be recorded for learners to review post-class.
How do I qualify to take the Pennsylvania Nursing Home Administrator license examination?
Will you assist me in completing a Nursing Home Administrator In Training (AIT) program?
PCOM does not have the ability to arrange Nursing Home Administrator In Training programs.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to find a nursing home and a nursing home
administrator who is willing to train the applicant in an AIT program.
What else do I need to include in my application for the Nursing Home Administrator
examination in PA?
Will I receive a certificate of completion at the end of each session?
A certificate of completion will be provided to you once you have completed all the
modules for the 120-hour course. You will submit this certificate with your NHA license
application.
Can I take these courses to qualify for the Nursing Home Administrator exam in any
other state?
The PCOM 120-hour course is currently approved by the state of Pennsylvania. If you
would like to apply it toward another state’s requirements for the NHA exam application,
we will work with you on an individual basis to apply for approval in that state.
What if I have a question or a problem while I am taking the course?
You can contact us during normal business hours for assistance. Contact information
will be provided once you register for the course.
How do I prepare for the Nursing Home Administrator exam?
PCOM’s 120-Hour course covers a wide variety of information regarding Nursing Home
Administration. You will gain expertise during your practical experience in nursing
home administration, such as during the Nursing Home Administrator in Training program.
There are also a variety of test-prep resources, including practice tests, available
online. A list of resource and reference books will be provided to you at the start
