BRANDON TOMLINSON, PHD, LPCC, NCC
Assistant Professor
Dr. Brandon Tomlinson, a Michigander at heart, came to PCOM from the Midwest. He completed
his doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, focusing his dissertation research
on the nature of how counselor educators address issues of problematic values (e.g.
racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.) among counseling students. Dr. Tomlinson maintains
a passion for addressing these through the lens of the ethical foundations of the
counseling field.
Dr. Tomlinson holds a great deal of zeal for counseling ethics, counselor professional
identity, and advocacy for marginalized groups in the United States and exploring
how the counseling field can play a role in that advocacy. Additionally, as an educator
and researcher, Dr. Tomlinson enjoys assessment, addictions, personality disorders,
career counseling, and theories and techniques.
Dr. Tomlinson's clinical experience consists of numerous different venues (college
counseling centers, private practice, hospitals, etc.) and populations (from college
students to people struggling with addictions to mandated domestic violence perpetrators
to couples and families).
