Commencement ceremonies for the Georgia Campus – Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (GA-PCOM) Doctor of Pharmacy, Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) Medicine classes of 2018 will take place on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Infinite Energy Forum in Duluth.
The School of Pharmacy and Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences graduation is set for 11 a.m., while the DO ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Jennifer Sterner-Allison, PharmD, is the featured speaker for the pharmacy and biomedical
sciences commencement ceremony. Dr. Sterner-Allison serves as the president of the
Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP) and works with GSHP members to
promote the practice of pharmacy throughout the state. She is active with the Pediatric
Pharmacy Advocacy Group as a member of the Advocacy Committee and collaborates with
pediatric pharmacy practitioners across the country to develop position statements
and pediatric patient educational materials.
The keynote speaker at the DO commencement ceremony is Paul Evans, DO, FACOFP. Dr.
Evans is the founding dean of GA-PCOM and also the founding dean of Marian University
College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He currently serves as a
senior medical education consultant and president of the Paul and Roxanne Evans Education
Foundation. His prior career experience includes positions as a chief resident, residency
program director, department chair and director of a large multi-specialty managed
care group. Dr. Evans retired from the US Army after serving for 26 years in military
medicine.
The inaugural class of the Physician Assistant Studies master’s program will graduate on Tuesday, July 31 at 11 a.m., also at the Infinite Energy Forum.
