PCOM faculty, staff and students share their thoughts on why they decided to study and practice osteopathic medicine as part of National Osteopathic Medicine Week.
From April 16-22, PCOM will join hundreds of other osteopathic medical schools across
the country to celebrate National Osteopathic Medicine (NOM) Week.
NOM Week brings the osteopathic medical profession together to focus on one common goal: increasing awareness of osteopathic medicine and DOs in communities across the country. At PCOM, several events are planned throughout the week to tout the institution’s osteopathic heritage and unique approach to education and patient care.
In addition, several PCOM students and faculty have shared why they decided to study and practice osteopathic medicine, in a series of videos titled #WHYIDO. The videos will be shared throughout the week on the College’s social media channels.
For the past 125 years, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) has trained thousands of highly competent, caring physicians, health practitioners and behavioral scientists who practice a “whole person” approach to care—treating people, not just symptoms. PCOM, a private, not-for-profit accredited institution of higher education, operates three campuses (PCOM, PCOM Georgia and PCOM South Georgia) and offers doctoral degrees in clinical psychology, educational psychology, osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, and school psychology.
