Department of School Psychology
School of Professional and Applied Psychology

The Department of School Psychology houses programs that are dedicated to training practitioners and scholars from cognitive-behavioral and applied behavior analysis empirically-based models to provide services to children and youth in educational and related settings.

At PCOM, school psychology graduate students focus on understanding the whole person in a manner that is consistent with the osteopathic philosophy of the university. Our faculty includes highly credentialed and respected practitioners and scholars in the specialty of school psychology who mentor students and provide a collaborative learning environment.

Classes are offered at convenient, flexible times and formats for working individuals. PCOM's programs are unique in their use of standardized client actors, immersing students in realistic experiences and clinical situations. School psychology programs at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine offer students an integrated, competency-based curriculum specific to each program.

PCOM offers the following degree and certificate programs in school psychology and related fields:

Students in the EdS and PsyD programs are trained to provide psychological services including assessment, treatment, consultation, program development and evaluation while focusing on interprofessional collaboration, advocacy, individual and cultural diversity, and serving the underserved. Students in the PhD program receive advanced training in educational and psychological processes involved in learning in order to inform instructional procedures and aid in student success. Students in the certificate programs gain solid skills in the areas of comprehensive behavioral assessment, intervention and consultation.
